The gear list (counted November 2, 2026)
- 722 cameras (482 photo, 192 cine, 30 broadcast, 18 film) with 2,309 recording modes.
- 707 lens series and 3,926 lenses: 3,841 interchangeable and 85 built into fixed-lens cameras. 108 anamorphic series.
- 37 camera makers, film gauges and generic sensor sizes, and more than 100 lens brands.
- Every mode carries a source line: 958 sizes read from a published figure, 1,245 derived from a published pixel pitch, the rest derived in other ways. 108 modes are marked Provisional, waiting for a second check.
- New gear arrives with app updates. You can add your own cameras and lens series.
What it does
- Framing by camera, recording mode and lens, with lens adapters, phone clip-on lenses, anamorphic squeeze, 13 aspect presets plus custom, a second frame line, and guides.
- Overview: every lens in the kit as frame lines at once.
- Vertical framing, chosen in Settings: cropped from the wide frame or with the camera on its side.
- Sun path over the live picture with golden and blue hour; depth of field; six stand-in figures; live looks with .cube LUTs.
- Stills (HEIC, with the setup in EXIF) and takes (HEVC, up to 1920 pixels, 30 fps or 24 when the phone runs hot, 10 minutes), filed by project and scene, with trim, title cards and PDF shot lists.
- An Apple Watch remote for the iPhone app.
- A clean feed to a monitor on a cable or to an AirPlay screen: the frame only, or the whole picture with the frame marked, with an optional lower third naming the camera, mode, lens and aspect. The phone keeps the controls.
- Shots stay on your devices unless you save, share or export them. Nothing is uploaded to Cutvey, and the shot library is kept out of iCloud and computer backups.
What it does not do
- It gives no accuracy percentage. The frame is as accurate as its sources.
- No 4K or 60 fps takes, ProRes or RAW. No front camera or external camera. No cloud sync or shared projects. No live depth under the moving picture.
- The gear list does not update over the air.
