Fact sheet

What it is

Who it is for
Directors, directors of photography, camera assistants, video producers, filmmakers and photographers.
Company
Cutvey LLC, Orlando, Florida. Made by filmmakers.
Availability
On the App Store since October 18, 2026. The current version is 1.1.
Price
Free to download, then $19.99, once (US price; the App Store shows the local price), as a single in-app purchase named Unlock Forever. No subscription, no packs, no ads. One purchase covers iPhone and iPad on the same Apple Account, and the Apple Watch app comes with it.
With a Cutvey plan
Included per seat: Solo (1 seat), Pro (5), Studio (20) and Enterprise (custom). One activation per person, on up to three devices, working offline for up to seven days at a time. Not included with the free crew account, crew seats or archived seats.
Devices

Gear list
722 cameras with 2,309 recording modes, and 707 lens series with 3,926 lenses, from 37 camera makers and more than 100 lens brands (counted November 2, 2026). New gear arrives with app updates, and users can add their own cameras and lens series.
Where the numbers come from
Every recording mode carries a source line: 958 sizes read from a published figure, 1,245 derived from a published pixel pitch, the rest derived in other ways. 108 modes are marked Provisional, waiting for a second check. The frame is as accurate as its sources, and Cutvey gives no accuracy percentage.
What it does
Frame lines with 13 aspect presets plus custom, anamorphic squeeze, lens adapters and phone clip-on lenses, Overview of the whole kit at once, vertical framing chosen in Settings, the sun path with golden and blue hour, depth of field, six stand-in figures and live looks with .cube LUTs.
Shots
Stills (HEIC, with the setup in EXIF) and takes (the composed frame in HEVC, up to 1920 pixels, 30 fps or 24 when the phone runs hot, 10 minutes each), filed by project and scene, with trim, title cards and PDF shot lists.
Monitor feed
A clean feed to a monitor on a cable or to an AirPlay screen: the frame only, or the whole picture with the frame marked, with an optional lower third naming the camera, mode, lens and aspect. The phone keeps the controls.
Privacy
Shots stay on the user's devices unless they save, share or export them. Nothing is uploaded to Cutvey, and the shot library is kept out of iCloud and computer backups.
What it does not do
No 4K or 60 fps takes, ProRes or RAW. No front camera or external camera. No cloud sync or shared projects. No live depth under the moving picture. The gear list does not update over the air.
Languages
41 languages, including Arabic, Hebrew and Farsi.
