Trim a take and add a title card

Open the take in Shots and press Trim to set new in and out points. Press Title Card to put a slate with the project, title, scene, date and length in front of it.

  1. In Shots, open the take.
  2. Press Trim, set the in and out points and press Save Copy. The trim is filed as a new shot in the same project, and the original take is kept.
  3. Press Title Card. Check the project, title, scene, camera and lens line and date it will print, set how long the card holds with Duration, and press Add Card. The card fits a vertical frame too, and the result is filed as a new shot.
  4. Save it to Photos or share it.

Takes record what the viewfinder shows: the frame, frame lines, look and info strip, as HEVC up to 1920 pixels on the long edge at 30 frames a second, up to 10 minutes each. When the phone runs hot the camera drops to 24 frames a second, and the viewfinder warns you before it may pause. The camera and lens live in the burned-in strip and in the app's shot record, not in the video file's metadata.

If that didn't work

A take stops and saves by itself before the device runs out of space, and a trim is a second file. Clear some space, then trim again.
