Left-handed layout and the other viewfinder settings
In Settings, Viewfinder, turn on Left-handed rails. The shutter column and the framing controls swap sides of the screen.
- Open Settings from the tools at the top of the viewfinder.
- Under Viewfinder, turn on Left-handed rails.
- Tap Done. The shutter now sits under the other thumb, with the lens rail and camera chips opposite.
The rest of the Viewfinder section
- Orientation: Horizontal or Vertical. The frame stays that way up until you change it here; turning the phone does not switch it.
- Distances: meters or feet, for depth of field, the sun panel and every export.
- Info strip on screen: the line under the frame naming the camera, lens and field of view.
The section below it, Frame lines, sets the line color, the line thickness and the color of the band where a lens sees wider than the phone.
Right-to-left languages
In Arabic, Hebrew and Farsi, the lists, sheets, sign-in and Shots mirror as a reader of those languages expects. The viewfinder's own controls stay where they are, as a camera's do, so the trigger is in the same place whatever the language. Left-handed rails is the switch for swapping them.
If that didn't work
If the controls did not move, check that you are on the viewfinder screen and not inside a panel. The switch changes the viewfinder only; Setup, Settings and Shots keep their usual layout.
