Viewfinder is locked: what each message means

A locked Viewfinder offers three ways in: Unlock Forever, Sign in with Cutvey and Restore Purchase. When a Cutvey membership stops covering the device, one line above the buttons says why.

On a fresh install the line under the logo describes the app. It changes to a reason only when a membership was in use and has stopped. A camera you have not allowed never locks the app; only this screen does.

The reason lines

  • Has not been able to reach Cutvey ... the offline window has run out. Viewfinder could not confirm the membership before its offline window, at most seven days, ran out. Connect to a network and tap Sign in with Cutvey.
  • This device's access through [workspace] was released. Someone gave this activation back to the workspace. Sign in again if your seat still covers Viewfinder.
  • The Cutvey membership for [workspace] has ended. The workspace's trial or subscription ended. Ask the workspace owner, or buy the app.
  • Your seat in [workspace] does not include Cutvey Viewfinder. Crew seats and archived seats do not include it. Ask the workspace owner.
  • The Cutvey plan for [workspace] does not include Cutvey Viewfinder. Ask the workspace owner which plan the workspace is on.
  • Access to Cutvey Viewfinder through [workspace] is paused. There is nothing to do on the device. Viewfinder checks again when you come back to it, at most once a minute, and opens by itself once the workspace's access is back.
  • Cutvey has locked this app. Sign in again to continue. Tap Sign in with Cutvey.

When the device does not know the workspace's name, the same sentence is written without it.

The buttons

  1. Unlock Forever buys the app once, with the App Store price beside it.
  2. Sign in with Cutvey uses a membership you already have.
  3. Restore Purchase finds a purchase made earlier on this Apple Account.

If that didn't work

If the buy button reads PURCHASE UNAVAILABLE RIGHT NOW, the App Store did not return the product. Check the connection and try again in a moment. If you bought the app before, tap Restore Purchase.
