The first screen: the agreement and the diagnostics switch
The first time Viewfinder opens, it asks you to agree to the App License Agreement and the Privacy Policy, with one switch for crash and usage reports. Agree and Continue is the only button. The switch can be changed later in Settings.
On a new install the screen says Welcome. If the documents change later in a way that needs your agreement again, the same screen comes back once, headed Quick update.
- Tap either document name to read it at cutvey.com: the App License Agreement and the Privacy Policy.
- Set the switch called Help us find and fix problems faster. Whether it starts on or off depends on your region and on any answer you gave before.
- Tap Agree and Continue. Viewfinder opens, or shows the locked screen if it has not been bought or signed in yet.
What the switch sends
When it is on, Viewfinder reports crashes, errors and performance problems to Cutvey. The reports carry no account identifier. Your frames, shot lists and location are never collected, and your data is never sold. The reporting is Cutvey's own, with no third-party analytics or ads.
To change your answer, open Settings and go to Crash and usage reports. Turning it off stops the recording at once and throws away anything queued and not yet sent, including a crash report waiting to go.
If you use Viewfinder through a Cutvey membership, your agreement is also recorded with your Cutvey account. A device unlocked by a purchase sends nothing about it.
If that didn't work
A document that will not open needs a network connection; both are published at cutvey.com/legal. There is no decline button, because the app cannot be used without the agreement. If you do not agree, close the app and delete it.
