Mix primes from several series, or build a zoom kit

A kit can hold primes from as many series as you like, or zooms. It cannot hold both at once, so the rail's arrows always mean the same thing: change lenses on a prime kit, turn the barrel on a zoom.

  1. Open Setup and tap Add Lenses (or Edit Kit when the kit has lenses) on the Lenses row.
  2. Find a series: search by series, brand or focal length, pick a brand, or use the Primes, Zooms and Anamorphic filters. Series you used lately sit under Recent.
  3. Open the series. Tap focal lengths to add or remove them, or tap Add All for the whole set.
  4. Go back and open another series to mix in more primes. The Lenses header in Setup then reads Mixed primes.

The kit sits at the top of the builder. Tap a lens there to put it on the camera; the one on the camera is badged On camera.

Primes or zooms

A series of the other kind carries a Replaces kit badge. Adding from it swaps the whole kit, and a line says so: "Switched to zooms: the primes came off," or the other way round. A series that holds both kinds adds only the kind already in the kit.

The built-in lens of a fixed-lens camera, such as a drone or an action camera, is marked Fixed to the body.

Start again

Clear Kit empties the kit. Undo takes its place straight after, in case it was a slip.

For help deciding what to carry, see choosing a lens package.

If that didn't work

If a series is missing, check the brand's list in the builder, then add it as custom gear and ask us to add it to the built-in list.
